This required, semester-long course is designed to continue and build upon the skills learned in English Language Arts and Communications 9. Course goals include improving students' reading, writing, listening, speaking, and critical thinking skills.

The Computer Application class is a Macintosh based class focused on students becoming technology proficient in the following areas: Keyboarding, Word Processing, Spreadsheet development, and Multimedia. In addition to the applications, students will discuss emerging technology, capabilities of resources, and changes in hardware and software that affect their goals of this course. Students will understand the importance of predictable and unpredictable impacts and the purpose, scope, and use of assistive technology including freeware, shareware, and commercial software.
